You crumbled into my chest from the relief of seeing me - wrapped your arms around me so we were bound together by our limbs and stuck your head below mine into my neck.
And amongst the heaven of being back and the words of some small love that drifted in the middle of us I breathed in your scent, passing my nose over your head.
Between the fruits of your perfume and the hollow woodiness of your hair were the tell-tale signs that you hadnt slept for a few days the salty taste of tears that slapped my cheeks and the smell of dirt.
Broken cornfields of dry hair lay below my eyes where I kissed your head, glad to be home.
